Dorothy Tessmer

Dorothy Lucille Tessmer, 93, of DePere, formerly of Wausau, passed away on Friday, September 29, 2017, at Birch Creek Assisted Living under the care of Unity Hospice.
She was born to the late William and Louise (Urban) Abraham in Wausau on June 17, 1924. Dorothy grew up and attended school in Wausau. She married Everett Tessmer on September 19, 1942.
Dorothy worked as a bookkeeper for Sears for 38 years and retired in 1984. She was a member of Grace United Church of Christ and enjoyed gardening, baking, and traveling.
Survivors include her son, Robert “Bob” (Kathi) Tessmer of DePere; four grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Everett Sr.; and son, Everett Jr.
A funeral service will be at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, October 4, 2017 at Helke Funeral Home, 302 Spruce St., Wausau, with Rev. Julie Goranson officiating. Family and friends may call beginning at 12 noon until the time of service at the funeral home. Private burial will be in Pine Grove Cemetery, Wausau.
