Dorothy Wiegandt

Dorothy M. (Wienke) Wiegandt, 87, of the town of Hewitt, passed away on Wednesday, February 22, 2012 at Aspirus Wausau Hospital under the care of Aspirus Comfort Care and Hospice Services. She was born on April 29, 1924 to the late Fred and Anna (Newmeg) Wienke in Eldorado, Wis. She married Lawrence Wiegandt on April 22, 1944 at St. Luke Lutheran Church in Elcho, Wis. Dorothy worked for 22 years at the former Marathon Battery. She also farmed in the town of Hewitt until 1972. Dorothy enjoyed the outdoors, gardening, and growing flowers.
Dorothy was preceded in death by her husband, Lawrence on August 4, 1984; and brothers and sisters.
A funeral service will be at 3:00 pm on Saturday, February 25, 2012, at Helke Funeral Home, Wausau, with Rev. David Faulkner and Rev. Leonard Erdman officiating. Family and friends may call beginning at 1:00 pm until the time of service at the funeral home. Entombment will be in Restlawn Chapel Mausoleum, Wausau.
