Dorothy Worden

Dorothy Worden, 94, has gone to be with her Lord on January 9, 2015. Dorothy was born in Wausau, in 1920, to Adolph and Minnie (Meilahn) Schubring. She was received into the Lord's family by Holy Baptism on August 22, 1920. Dorothy was confirmed on Palm Sunday, March 25, 1934, at Trinity Lutheran Church, town of Wausau.

On October 22, 1938, she was united in Holy Matrimony to Clarence Worden. The Lord blessed them with one son, Darrell (Cindy) Worden of Wausau; one daughter, Donna Kuklinski of Ohio; and seven grandchildren, Tim (Diane) Worden of Wausau, Scott (Karen) Worden of Wausau, Debra Kuklinski of Gettysburg, PA, Randy Kuklinski of Columbus, OH, Brian (Mary Ann) Kuklinski of Denver, CO, Renee (George) Jihlavec of Roscoe, IL, and Kevin (Etienne) Fons of Munich, Germany. Dorothy is also survived by nine great-grandchildren, three step-grandchildren, and five step-great-grandchildren.

Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Clarence Worden; and great-granddaughter, Lauren Jihlavec.

Dorothy worked for the United Methodist Church for 11 years and for Midway Motor Lodge of Janesville for ten years. She was an active member for many years at Trinity Lutheran Church in the Town of Wausau. She was later a member of Christ Lutheran Church in Wausau. She enjoyed Guild, Lutheran Women's Missionary League, and Golden Friendship Club. She took great pleasure in her volunteer work, sewing, and crafts. During her life she enjoyed bowling in a league and playing cards with friends.

A funeral service will be at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, January 15, 2015, at Christ Lutheran Church, 1300 Townline Road, Wausau, with Rev. David Wetmore and Rev. Rick Kelm officiating. Family and friends may call beginning at 9:30 a.m. until the time of service at the church. Burial will be in Restlawn Memorial Park, town of Texas.
