DuWayne Erdmann

October 8, 1929 — December 5, 2009

DuWayne L. “Feeney” Erdmann was born on October 8, 1929 in Wausau, WI. He graduated from Wausau High School and went on to serve his country as a paratrooper during the Korean War. On July 18, 1953 Feeney married Lois Mae Christian at Salem Lutheran Church in Wausau. He was a good father to his children and was one of the founding fathers of the North West Little League in Milwaukee, even going to Cooperstown for Umpire training. While raising their family, Feeney worked for the Milwaukee Rail Road as a switchman for 40 years. He was a very active member of Christ Lutheran Church. In his free time, he enjoyed spending time out doors hunting, fishing and playing golf. Feeney died on Saturday, December 5, 2009 at Aspirus Wausau Hospital. Feeney will be remembered as a very patient and good man always willing to tell a story.


Feeney is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Lois; sons, Daryl (Marcia Imse) Erdmann and Daniel (Lisa Sosinski) Erdmann; grandson, Daniel Dean Erdmann Jr.; and many more extended family and friends. He is preceded in death by his mother and step-father, Amona and Merle Zaleesky; and daughter, Terri Erdmann.


Memorial services will be 11:00 AM on Tuesday, December 15, 2009 at Christ Lutheran Church, Wausau. Reverend Arleigh Lutz and Reverend David Wetmore will be officiating. Military honors will be performed at the church by American Legion Post #10 following the memorial service. Visitation will begin at 10:00 AM on Tuesday at Christ Lutheran Church and conclude at the time of service at 11:00 AM.
