DuWayne Max Nass, 72, Rothschild, died Tuesday, March 8, 2016 at Copperleaf Assisted Living of Schofield.
DuWayne was born July 11, 1943 to the late Max and Ella (Lambrecht) Nass at Wausau Memorial Hospital, Wausau. Over the years; he farmed with his parents, worked in the kitchen of Captain's Steak Joint and also for IGA as a packer. DuWanye married the love of his life, Carol Nemke, on July 13, 1985 at Wesley UMC. The couple celebrated over 30 wonderful years together.
DuWayne was a wonderful husband and good man with a friendly and outgoing nature. He enjoyed the simpler things in life; spending time with family, swimming and fishing, polka music, playing bingo and cards with family and friends. DuWayne had a great love for birds, especially his parakeets.
DuWayne is survived by his beloved wife, Carol; sisters, Dorothy Jaeger, Bonnie (David) Radtke and Phyllis (Allen) Buch; sister-in-law, Lucille Pophal; and extended family and friends. He is preceded in death by his siblings, Elvera (Hugo) Bielke, Marvin Nass, Reuben (Diana) Nass and Robert (LoRayne) Nass; and brothers-in-law, Algart Mueller and Milfred Jaeger.
Funeral services will be 3:00 PM on Sunday, March 13, 2016 at Wesley United Methodist Church (1101 Elm Street, Wausau, WI 54401). Pastor Sue Lee D.Min. will be officiating. Visitation will be from 2:00 PM until the time of services on Sunday at the church. Burial will be in Town of Berlin Cemetery.
