Earlene Burns

Earlene Ann (Heller) Burns, 77, of Wausau, passed away on Thursday, November 14, 2013, at Applegate Terrace, under the care of Aspirus Comfort Care and Hospice Services. She was born on June 29, 1936, to Milton and Alma (Spindler) Heller in Wausau. Earlene attended local schools and graduated from Wausau High School in 1953. She married Kenneth Burns in Wausau on November 23, 1955. Earlene worked for the Social Security Administration for 38 years.

Earlene was a member of Grace United Church of Christ for over 50 years. She was active in the church with her husband, Ken, helping with meals and ushering. She enjoyed activities that spanned all four seasons, including flower gardens, golfing, and snowmobiling. Earlene and Ken spent time over the years at their lake cottage and also traveling across the United States.

Earlene is survived by her husband, Kenneth; brothers, Ronald (LouAnn) Heller and James Heller; nephew, Scott (Denise) Heller; nieces, Renee (Keith) Litzer and Brenda (David) Frome; and great-nieces, Shannen and Rachel Litzer.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Milton and Alma.

A funeral service will be at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, November 18, 2013, at Grace United Church of Christ, 535 South Third Ave., Wausau, with Rev. Wayne Drueck and Pastor Julie Goranson officiating. Family and friends may call beginning at 9:30 a.m. until the time of service at the church. Burial will be in Restlawn Memorial Park, town of Texas.
