Earlin Raymond Arthur Krohn, May 21, 1930—May 13, 2015
Earlin Krohn, 84, passed away on Wednesday, May 13, 2015 at Aspirus Hospital, Wausau. He was born to Walter and Matilda (Voight) Krohn, growing up on their farm in Stettin township. He served in the US Army, stationed in Japan from 1951-1953 during the Korean War.
He was a fireman in Wausau for two years, and also worked at Teletronics. He had a career in business management and worked at the following places: Bethesda Nursing Home in Watertown, Milwaukee Lutheran Convalescence Home, and Waupun Memorial Hospital and various positions in other hospitals and clinics. A second career was his own business, Doctor Fix-It, begun in 1991. He was also an avid fisherman, hunter, gardener, hobby farmer and golfer.
He was married to Rose Marie Arnette in 1953 in Wausau. Their three sons were born in Watertown and for their minority they all lived in the Waupun area both in town and in the country. They divorced in 1992.
On January 10, 1998 he married Anna Marie Matteo in Tavares, Fla. In October of 2003 they moved back to Wausau. He was a member of Our Savior's Evangelical Lutheran Church in Wausau. Throughout his life he was very active in church leadership and singing in the choir.
He is survived by his present wife, Anna; the mother of their sons, Rose Krohn-Koehler; sons Joey (Lisa) Krohn of Wimberley, Texas; Jay (Jacqueline) Krohn, of Minneapolis, MN. Rev. Jud (Barbara) Krohn of Pickett, WI. Grandchildren: Joshua (Leah) Krohn and their daughter Harper of Racine, WI; Naomi (Gus) Martinez and their daughter Tess and son Ethan of Phoenix, AZ;Jared Krohn of Racine, WI; Garrett Krohn of Austin, TX, and Austin Krohn of Buda, Texas; Thomas Krohn and Jacob Krohn of Minneapolis, MN; Haley Krohn and Braeden Krohn of Pickett, WI. There are eleven step-grandchildren and thirteen great-grandchildren. Surviving siblings include his sisters: Mavis Schoenherr, LuAnn (Rev. William) Ruhbusch, Lois (Michael) Fasse; brother Donald (Lyn) Krohn; and his sisters Geneva Weith and Lorraine (Bill) Melanson; brother-in-law Walter Braatz; sister-in-law Alice Christian; and numerous nephews and nieces.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his sisters, Ethel Buttke and Ardell Koenig, his brother Layton, and his sister Junice Braatz; a step-daughter Karen Jenkins; and a grandson Trevor Krohn.
Visitation will be at Our Savior's Evangelical Lutheran Church from 9:30-11:00 AM followed by the funeral Service at 11, a meal, and interment at Stettin Christian Cemetery.
