Edith was born March 11, 1920, the daughter of the late Maynard and Charlotte (Hotchkiss) James and grew up in the Wausau area. On January 18, 1941, she was united in marriage to Herbert Sulzer. Although Herbert was away from home during WWII, they kept in contact by sending postcards. They shared 57 years of marriage, enjoying life and raising their family. Edith especially enjoyed spending time at family cottage up north in Hazelhurst.
For the past 12 years, Edith lived in Rhinelander with her daughter, Carol, and her family. There she spent time with her grandchildren, crocheted afghans, played cards, and collected teddy bears. Edith was a talented seamstress, sewing beautiful wedding dresses in her early life for Stillmanks Bridal. She had a wonderful sense of humor and her timeless words of wisdom were, “Be Good”.
