Edward Buth

Edward Carl Buth, 92, of Wausau, passed away on Saturday, September 12, 2015, at Mount View Care Center. He was born on August 25, 1923 to Edward and Elsie (Pieper) Buth in the town of Wausau. Edward attended Lenroot School, agricultural school, and had on-the-job training with his father on the family dairy farm, which he took over operating after his father retired. He worked on the farm for his career until his retirement. He married Florence Wenzel in Wausau on June 21, 1947.

Edward was a lifetime member of St. Peter's Evangelical Lutheran Church, where he was baptized and confirmed. He was also a lifetime member of the Lutheran Laymans League and served on the church council holding positions from janitor to church president. Hobbies he enjoyed include woodworking, singing in the church choir, reading, and working puzzles. Edward also liked to follow the Brewers and Packers.

Survivors include his wife, Florence (Wenzel) Buth of Wausau; daughters, Barbara Beck of Wausau, Bonnie (Larry) Viste of Sturgeon Bay, and Kathleen (Robert) Roggenbuck of Merrill; grandchildren, Craig Beck (Rhonda Feck), Trina (Paul) Schneck, Tara (Cory) Slagoski, Josh Viste, Shannon (Joe) Fittshur, Heidi (Drew) Ernst, Zachary (Amanda) Roggenbuck, and Nathan (Andrea) Roggenbuck; great-grandchildren, Miranda, Christopher, Dawson, Kaitlyn, Alanna, Landon, Alexis, Brooke, Marcus, Eli, William, Natalie, Rachel, Alexandra, Jackson, Avery, and River; and step-great-grandchildren, Lindsey and Lucas.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Edward and Elsie; brother, Elmer; and sisters, Mildred Borchardt, Bernice Zahrt, and Marion Zahrt.

A funeral service will be at 11:30 a.m. on Wednesday, September 16, 2015, at St. Peter's Evangelical Lutheran Church, 7505 North 33rd St. (Town of Wausau), with Rev. Scott Holoubek officiating. Family and friends may call beginning at 9:00 a.m. until the time of service at the church. Burial will follow in St. Peter's Lutheran Cemetery, Town of Wausau.
