Edward I. Osterbrink, 91, Wausau, passed away Monday, January 9, 2017, at Wausau Manor, under the care of Aspirus Comfort Care and Hospice Services.
Edward was born December 24, 1925, in Marathon, WI, son of the late Ignatius John and Aurora (Belonger) Osterbrink. In 1944 he entered the United States Army serving his country during World War II with the 28th Division having served during the Battle of the Bulge. Edward was discharged in 1946, and on October 8, 1949, was united in marriage to Elsie Elizabeth Braatz at the Holy Name Rectory.
Edward and Elsie made their home in the Wausau area where he was employed as a Quality Inspector for Marmet for over 30 years. He enjoyed tinkering around the house and was a jack of all trades.
Edward is survived by five sons: David (Karley) Osterbrink of San Juan Island, WA, Dennis Osterbrink of Ft. Myers, FL, Dale Osterbrink of Wausau, Mark (Julie) Osterbrink of Rochester Hills, MI and Todd Osterbrink of Wausau, six grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by seven siblings, Ruth, Fritz, Phillip, Alice, Jeanne, Clara and Joe.
A Mass will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, January 21, 2017, at St. Mary's Roman Catholic Church, 325 Grand Ave, Wausau. Visitation will be from 9:30 a.m. until service time at the church. Burial will be in Restlawn Memorial Park, Wausau.
