Elaine Hahn

Elaine was born November 3rd 1924, in Wausau, the daughter of the late August and Ida (Ladwig) Shivek. She attended Franklin Grade School and graduated from Wausau East High School. On June 28th 1947, she was united in marriage to Wilbur Hahn, in Wausau. The couple lived in the town of Wausau, where they farmed and raised their family.

For 13 years, Elaine worked for the Wausau School District as a cook, retiring in 1989. She belonged to Trinity Lutheran Church, in the town of Wausau, where she was active in the Ladies Aid; and also volunteered many hours at Bethesda Thrift Shop. Elaine's love of gardening, flowers, bluebirds, and cardinals will be remembered fondly by her family.

On December 26th 2013, Elaine Marian Hahn, died under the care of Interim Hospice, at Lili House, Schofield, surrounded by family.

She will be lovingly remembered by her four sons, Jerome (Jan), Deerbrook, Greg (Shirley), Aniwa, Russell, Wausau, and Jay (Dawn), Green Bay; eight grandchildren, Joann, Shawn, Rachel, Stephanie, and Dustin Hahn, Lisa (Kevin) Borth and their children, Erin and Sarah, Shyanne (Scott) Borchardt and their sons, Caleb and Jacob, and Shannon Kasper and her children, Nevaeh and Gary; and other family and friends.

Along with her parents, Elaine was preceded in death by her husband, Wilbur, on December 31st 2005; and four siblings, Arthur Shivek, Beatrice (Luis) De La Pasqua, Genevive (Elmer) Bartelt, and Bernice (Ben) Stachovak.

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. , Monday, December 30th, at Trinity Lutheran Church, town of Wausau. Burial will follow in Mechanic Ridge Cemetery. Family will receive guests Sunday, December 29th, at Helke Funeral Home, Wausau, from 3 p.m. until 6 p.m.; and again on Monday, at church, from 10 a.m. until the time of service.
