Elaine Lewitzke

Elaine (Draeger) Lewitzke was born on March 27, 1931 in the town of Hamburg to Adolph and Alice (Klapel) Draeger. She graduated from Athens High School and then moved to Edgar with her parents. Elaine was employed in Wausau as a bookkeeper at several auto dealerships.
On September 8, 1956 she married David Lewitzke at St. Stephen Lutheran Church in Edgar. They made their home in Wausau. She was a homemaker and loving mother of two sons. After they were of school age, Elaine returned to work part-time at the office of Minnesota Mutual Life Insurance Company, Canteen Service and Sternberg Insurance until retirement in 1989. Elaine enjoyed cooking, baking, gardening, and spending time with her grandchildren. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Wausau attending the Wednesday morning Bible classes.
She was preceded in death by her parents, and a sister, Edith Heise. Elaine is survived by her husband, David for 57 years, two sons, Keith (Sara) Lewitzke and Kirk (Deb) Lewitzke, brother-in-law, Edward Heise all of Wausau, three grandchildren, Jennine (Jason) Fox of Chippewa Falls, Angela Lewitzke and Kevin Lewitzke of Wausau, two step grandchildren, Alisha (Larry) Dean of DeForest and Ryan (Kaitlyn) Havlovic of Wausau and three step great grandchildren, Annie and Louie Dean and Finley Havlovic.
Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m., Friday, July 11, 2014 at Trinity Lutheran Church, 501 Stewart Ave, Wausau. Reverend Zach Holdorf will officiate. Burial will be in Restlawn Memorial Park.
