Elaine Tellekson, 89, of Wausau passed away on Saturday, January 30, 2016 at St. Clare's Hospital.
She was born September 9, 1926 in Oshkosh to the late Theodore and Ione (Bullinger) Krueger. She was baptized October 3, 1926 and confirmed March 17, 1940 at Trinity Lutheran Church, Oshkosh. On May 28, 1949, Elaine married Ted Tellekson also at Trinity Lutheran Church. In 1953 they moved to Wausau and have resided there ever since. Besides raising a family, she worked at Lemke Cheese as Bud Lemke's secretary until retiring after twenty five years of service. Elaine and her family were members of Trinity Lutheran Church, Wausau where she was a member of the Welfare Workers, Cradle Roll, Wednesday morning Bible class and continued to read her Bible daily up till the very end. In her earlier years, she volunteered at Wausau Hospital, Northcentral Health Care Center and was a Cub Scout Den Mother. Her hobbies included bowling, volleyball, knitting and playing the Piano. She was an avid Bucks, Brewers and Packers fan through the good and bad years.
Survivors include her husband Ted of Weston, two sons, Jim (Deb) of Wisconsin Rapids, Mike (Betty) of Weston, four grandchildren, Shawn (Jenny) Tellekson of Merrill, Jody (Jason) Butterfield of Weston, Kristin (Nick) Larsen of Waconia, MN and Jason Tellekson of Wisconsin Rapids, five great grandchildren, Hailey, Landon, Jordan, Keira and Kaylin and half-sister, Judy Ostwald of Menominee Falls. Elaine was preceded in death by her sister Joanne Huebner and brother, William Krueger both of Oshkosh.
Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m., Thursday, February 4, 2016 at Trinity Lutheran Church, 501 Stewart Ave., Wausau. Reverend Zach Holdorf will officiate. Burial will be in Restlawn Memorial Park. Visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m., Wednesday at the Helke Funeral Home, 302 Spruce St., Wausau and at the church on Thursday from 9:00 a.m. until the time of services.
