On December 11, 2016, Heaven gained a soldier as Eldon Radant moved from this life to the next to be reunited with his eternal soulmate, Violet Radant. Eldon was born August 18, 1923, in Wausau, Wisconsin to Arnold and Hildegard Radant. He served his country honorably in World War II and was a proud recent Honor Flight recipient. Upon returning from the war, Eldon married Violet, the love of his life, on June 21, 1947. Together, they had four children, who survive them in death: son Bruce (Rita) Radant of Wausau, son Neal Radant of Wausau, son Scott (Deb) Radant of Wausau, and daughter Cheryl Radant of Merrill.
Eldon lived a fulfilling 93 years. He was a mail carrier for 35 years. Once retired, he cared for his family day in and out, entertaining them with stories about his time in the military and as a mail carrier. He also found simple joy in spending time with his friends and tending to his rose garden. Eldon never met a stranger he didn't befriend and was known for chatting with anyone he came into contact with. When his wife became ill, he doted on her. His legacy will be his joyful smile, his sarcasm and wit, and the pride he took in the accomplishments of each of his family members, including his 5 grandchildren and 6 great granddaughters, who will cherish every moment with him.
