Eldon Arthur Edwin Schult, 88, Wausau, died Friday, November 6, 2015 at Aspirus Wausau Hospital, Wausau, surrounded by his family.
Eldon was born June 3, 1927 in the Town of Maine to the late Martin and Olga (Wiedow) Schult. He graduated from Merrill High School and married the love of his life, Marjorie Steckling on June 11, 1949 at Trinity Lutheran Church, Wausau. The couple raised three sons; Tim, Tom and Tad. Over the years, Eldon supported his family by farming, running his own milk route, working as a carpenter for Kraimer Construction and as a supervisor in the finishing department for Wausau Paper, Brokaw, for over 30 years. Eldon and Marjorie celebrated 64 years together prior to her death on February 9, 2014.
Eldon was a firm but loving father and grandfather dedicated to his beloved wife Marjorie. He was very active at St. Mark's Lutheran Church with their Property Committee, the choir and bible study. Free time often found Eldon going to auctions, working with his horses, camping through the years, waterskiing, snowmobiling, fishing and hunting. Some of his favorite times were spent at the family cottage on Clear Lake. Eldon will be lovingly remembered as a man who "Could always make something out of nothing."
Eldon is survived by his loving sons; Tim (Pat) of Rhinelander, Tom (Kris) of Wausau and Tad of Merrill; grandchildren, Josh Schult of MN, Jake (Jackie) Schult of Chippewa Falls, Kaitlin (Kyle) Haase of Wausau, Brenda Stafford of Rhinelander, Sarah (Josh) Keim of Athens, Adam (Barb) Schult of Merrill, Alicia (Patrick) Schult of Beaver Dam, Jordan (Jen) Schult of Wausau and Ashley (Bo) Schult of Wausau; 18 great-grandchildren; siblings, Della (Dick) Baker of Wausau and Reuben Schult of Wausau; and extended family and friends.
