Eleanor Marie Mroczenski was born in Marathon, WI on February 2nd 1928, the youngest daughter of Adolph and Antonia (Kowalski) Kruesel. She graduated from Marathon High School in 1945. On September 2nd 1950, she was united in marriage to Leonard Mroczenski, at St. Mary's Parish, Marathon. While raising a family, she co-owned E & L Clothing with Leonard. Eleanor then went on to work for Marathon Cheese for many years. She always had a story to tell about her many friends there.
She loved to crochet and embroider and was well-known for her hundreds of decorative towels she made and gave away. You never left the table hungry, as Eleanor was the best cook. She loved cookies and definitely had a sweet tooth, but would always share her stash of treats with anyone visiting. Eleanor was an avid Green Bay Packers fan. She always found time to volunteer at church and assist with polling during elections.
Eleanor cherished time spent with family and friends and her witty personality will be missed by all who knew her. She loved her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
On June 29th 2012, Eleanor Marie Mroczenski died at Aspirus Wausau Hospital. She was 84 years old.
She will be lovingly remembered by her four children, James (Diane) Mroczenski, David (Irene) Mroczenski, Glenn (Gayle) Mroczenski, all of Marathon, and Joan (Bruce) Bottolfson, New Richmond, WI; eight grandchildren, Tom (Becky) Mroczenski, Joe (Heather) Mroczenski, Luke Mroczenski, Matt (Amanda) Mroczenski, Deanna (Chris) Chapman, Justin Mroczenski, Kelsey Bottolfson, and Taylor Bottolfson; 8 great-grandchildren, Ellie Mroczenski, Josh Mroczenski, Will Mroczenski, Katrina Mroczenski, Colton Mroczenski, Caroline Mroczenski, Isabel Mroczenski, and Jack Mroczenski.
Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Leonard, in 2009; five brothers, Paul, Carl, August, Kurt, and Walter Kruesel; and sister, Clara Crotteau.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m., Tuesday, July 3rd, at St. Mary's Parish, Marathon. The Reverend Joseph Diermeier will officiate.
