Eleanora Mroczenski

June 5, 1930 — December 19, 2009

Eleanora Margaret Hoffmann was born June 5, 1930 in Rib Falls to the late Edwin and Ruth (Sigmund) Hoffmann. She was united in marriage to Julian Mroczenski June 4, 1955 in Marathon. As a young woman, Eleanora worked as a nurse’s aide at the former St. Mary’s Hospital, Wausau, Oster Corp., Milwaukee and at Marathon Cheese, Marathon. She was a member of PCCW, Holy Family Catholic Church, Poniatowski, WI.

Along with farming side-by-side with Julian, they raised 5 children. She did most everything on the farm that Julian did. Eleanora was the greatest of improvisers, often fixing broken machinery while Julian was away at work. Not being a stranger to hard work, it was not uncommon for her to milk cows while pregnant. The greatest joys in her life came from her family, flower gardens and animals. Eleanora loved to plant beautiful rock gardens brimming full of flowers and a huge vegetable garden for the family. Her cooking and baking skills were unequaled. She had the uncanny ability to make wonderful meals out of seemingly nothing. In the autumn, Eleanora would painstakingly hand peel their farm raised apples to bake deep-dish apple pies, resulting in 40-60 apple pies each year.

After selling the farm in 1993, Eleanora and Julian set off to travel. Some of their favorite destinations were Yellowstone, the Badlands, Las Vegas, Alaska, Hawaii, Branson, the Grand Canyon, Niagra Falls and New Jersey.

Eleanora will be missed dearly by all who knew her. She loved to laugh, dance and unselfishly gave to others, not thinking of herself. Her physical and emotional fortitude were incredible. Eleanora was a very gentle spirit, with a kind heart and soul. Though she faced great adversity, Eleanora’s enduring personality always shown through. While raising her children, she walked softly but always had a leather belt at her disposal. She had wisdom beyond her years, always knowing what to say and what not to say. Aspiring to be more like her would be a wonderful goal, and it would make the world a better place.

Eleanora is survived by her beloved husband, Julian; children, Doris Heier, Edwin (Grace) Mroczenski, Ruth (Perry) Redeker and Earl (Ann) Mroczenski; grandchildren, Jayson and April, Teri (Tyson) and Jonathan, Kaylea, Tia and Eric; 2 great-grandchildren; brothers, Lawrence (Joanne), Alvin (Emily) and Earl Hoffmann; sister, Edna Scheel; 2 grand-dogs, Freda and Diego; and many extended family and friends. She is preceded in death by her daughter, Judy Dennison.

Mass of Christian Burial will be 1:30 PM Wednesday, December 23, 2009 at Holy Family Parish, Poniatowski, WI. Father Charles Hiebl will be officiating. Visitation will begin at 11:30 AM on Wednesday at the church and last until the time of mass at 1:30 PM. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. I’m spending Christmas with Jesus this year.

I see the countless Christmas trees around the world below

With tiny lights, like Heaven’s stars reflecting on the snow.

The sight is so spectacular, please wipe away that tear

Because I’m spending Christmas with Jesus this year.

I hear the many Christmas songs that people hold so dear;

But the sounds of any music can’t compare with the Christmas choir up here.

I have no words to tell you the joy their voices bring,

It is beyond description to hear the angels sing.

I know how much you miss me, I see the pain inside your heart

But it’s only for a while that we will be apart

I’ll ask Him to light your spirit as I tell Him of your love.

So please pray for one another as you lift your eyes above.

I can’t tell you of the splendor of the peace here in this place.

Can you just imagine Christmas with our Savior…face to face?

Please let your hearts be joyful and let your spirit sing

I’m spending Christmas in Heaven and I’m walking with the King.
