Eleanore Tetzlaff, 94, of Wausau, died Thursday May 7, 2009 at Aspirus Wausau Hospital.
Eleanore was born May 28, 1914 in Merrill, to the late Paul and Mary Radtke.She married Walter Tetzlaff on January 28, 1942 in Wausau. Walter preceded her in death on October 12, 1974.
As a young woman, Eleanore had an interesting life. She and her sister Leone worked as house girls for the well known Woodson family. Eleanore lived with them for 14 years until her marriage in 1942.
She later returned to work at Wausau hospital as an aid in the lab and enjoyed working there until her retirement in 1979. Eleanore was active in many clubs and church activities. She lived her life with a smile and always enjoyed doing things for others.
After selling her home, she moved to Forest Park Village and made many friends. She enjoyed all the activities and especially her afternoon coffee get togethers and evening bingo games.
Survivors include two daughters; Joan Nagler of Marathon and Joyce (Joe) Coleman of Overland Park, KS., one granddaughter; Ellie Hardesty of Overland Park, KS., and nieces and nephews.
Eleanore is preceded in death by four sisters; Lillie Goetsch, Dorothy Kollath, Leone Hagen and Loretta Peeters and one brother Walter Radtke.
Memorial services will be at Noon on Wednesday May 13, 2009 at the Zion Lutheran Church, Wausau. The Reverend Joel Schmalz will officiate. Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery, Wausau. Visitation will be Wednesday from 11 a.m. until the time of services at the church. The Helke Funeral Home, Wausau assisted the family with arrangements.
