Elinore Roebuck, at the age of 95, was called home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, October 26, 2011.
She was born May 7, 1916 in the Riverside Cheese Factory, town of Stettin. Elinore was the daughter of the late Henry and Ella (Ohrmundt) Mathwick and stepdaughter to the late Lillian (Pattinger) Mathwick. Following graduation from Wausau Senior High School, she worked for Marathon Electric supporting the war effort. On September 2, 1939, Elinore married Forrest Roebuck in Wausau. He preceded her in death on March 4, 1972. Following his death she occupied her time by serving meals at the YMCA, Horace Mann Middle School and the Senior Center. Elinore provided housing to numerous college students to help fill her now empty house. With increasing health problems, Elinore moved into Harmony Terrace Commons where she resided her remaining years. She enjoyed living there and we are very appreciative for their care and love shown her during those years. Elinore was a lifelong member of Trinity Lutheran Church and for 40 years was an active member in a woman's Bible study group.
Survivors include her son, Forrest (Joanne) Roebuck of Evans, GA, her daughter, Rebecca Kennedy of Janesville, six grandchildren, Kelly Roebuck, Trevor (Melody) Roebuck, Shawn (Lorraine) Kennedy, Shannon (Bekki) Kennedy, Christopher Kennedy, Rachel(Ryan) Williams, ten great grandchildren, Forrest III, Oliver, Simon, Rebecca, Marie, Chase, Cooper, Caiden, Katie Grace, and Owen, three sisters, Elizabeth Hoerter of Wausau, Helen Clark of Denver, CO, Charlotte (Jim) Becker of Sun City, AZ and a sister-in-law, Lorraine Mathwick of Milwaukee.
