Elizabeth Passow

Elizabeth "Betty" Passow will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She was always there for her family giving them guidance, support, encouragement and love. Betty had a positive cheerful nature, a friend to many and enjoyed giving of her time to help others.
She was born November 4, 1922 in the town of Stettin to the late Fred and Stella (Schroeder) Wilde. On August 3, 1946, Betty married Roy Passow at Wesley Methodist Church, Wausau. For many years, Betty was a receptionist at the Stahmer Clinic, Office Manager for Doctors Bachhuber and Grauer, and later became Director of Receptionists at the Wausau Medical Center, retiring in 1989.
Betty and Roy were charter members of St. Mark's Lutheran Church and most recently instrumental in their support of the Orphan Grain Train. Betty taught Sunday school, was the director of several Sunday school Christmas programs, had a passion for the piano and for many years was senior choir director. Betty also volunteered at Camp Luther, was a member of the Ladies Guild, St. Marks Worship Committee and Lutheran Layman's League. Her hobbies included quilting, knitting and baking her famous "Butter Horns".
At the age of 89, Betty passed away Thursday, October 25, 2012 at Aspirus Wausau Hospital.
Survivors include her husband, Roy of Wausau, three children, Ann (Raymond) Mussell of Plainview , MN, Alan (Karen) Passow of Eagan, MN, Kay (David) Rindfleisch of Oconomowoc, eleven grandchildren, eight great grandchildren and sister-in-law, Betty Jehn of Wausau. She was preceded in death by her brother Wilmer Wilde and an infant brother.
Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, October 30, 2012 at St. Mark's Lutheran Church. Reverend Bruce Lamont will officiate. Burial will be in Pine Grove Cemetery. Visitation will be at the church on Tuesday from 9:00 a.m. until the time of services. You may sign our family guest book at helke.com.
