Elizabeth "Bette" Reinke, 84, Wausau, died Monday, March 17, 2008 at Wausau Manor.
Bette was born June 27, 1923 in Wausau to the late Hugo and Anna (Hoff) Reinke. She attended Trinity Lutheran School in Wausau, and graduated from Wausau High School in 1941. Bette worked for General Telephone Company, first as an operator and then as an executive secretary, for forty-two years. Following her retirement, Bette visited Australia, New Zealand, and the Holy Lands.
Throughout her life, Bette was deeply committed to her faith. Following her baptism at the Naugart Church, Bette was confirmed at Trinity Lutheran Church and remained a lifelong member of the congregation. In later life, she was a member of the Altar Guild and very active in Bible study. Her church was a big part of her life. The Christian values taught to her extended to Bette being very active with Bethesda Lutheran Home and Services for many years.
Bette is survived by her sister, Mildred (Harold) Thiel; nieces and nephews, Joyce (Ed) Lunkos, Gary (Tracy) Thiel, Sharon (Gene) Bartelt, Russell Thiel, and Diane (Larry) Lorbiecki; and many more extended family and friends.
Funeral services will be at 11:30 AM on Tuesday, March 25 at Trinity Lutheran Church, Wausau. Pastor Gary Schultz will be officiating. Visitation will be from 10:00 AM to 11:30 AM on Tuesday, March 25, at Trinity Lutheran Church, Wausau. Burial will follow the funeral service in Restlawn Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be directed to Trinity Lutheran Church, Wausau.
