Mrs. Elizabeth Helen Schroeder, 77, died Wednesday, July 8, 2009, at Aspirus Wausau Hospital. Elizabeth was born August 27, 1931, the daughter of Richard and Sadie (Blarek) Bruski. She was united in marriage on July 7, 1951, to Robert Schroeder. Elizabeth enjoyed and dearly loved her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Her love for them was evident by the apparent joy on her face whenever they were around. One of her favorite pastimes was sending greeting cards to all of her family and friends. She also loved playing cards, especially the fellowship and memories that went with the many games. Most importantly, she loved her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. In the last 6 months a favorite saying of Elizabeth’s was “This is the day the Lord has made, let us rejoice and be glad in it.” She will be greatly missed, but we rejoice in the strong faith God gave her and look forward to seeing her again in heaven. Because of her faith in Jesus, we too can say, “This is the day the Lord has made, let us rejoice and be glad in it.” She is survived by her loving family, including her husband of 58 years, Robert; 3 children, Richard (Catherine) Schroeder, Lana (Lyle) Kunze, and Rod (Dawn) Schroeder; 13 grandchildren, Tammy (Todd) Kelm, Teresa (Greg) Renn, Clint (Alissa) Kunze, Luke (Christy) Kunze, Seth (Jacque) Kunze, Trevor Kunze, and Caleb Kunze, Robert Schroeder, Laramie Schroeder, Wendy Schroeder, Marsha Schroeder, Clayton Schroeder, and Patricia Schroeder; and 7 great-grandchildren, Marshall, Bowen, Miciah, Anna, Levi, Isabel, and Addison. A funeral service will be held Saturday, July 11, 2009, at 10:30 a.m., at Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church, Aniwa; visitation will be held one hour prior to the service beginning at 9:30 a.m., at the church. The Reverend David Faulkner will officiate. Burial will follow at Zion Evangelical Lutheran Cemetery. Visitation will be held Friday, July 10, 2009, from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., with a closing devotion at 8:00 p.m., at the Helke Funeral Home, Wausau.
