Esther Loos

Esther Loos, 90, of Wausau passed away on Friday, July 1, 2016 at Mt. View Care Center.
She was born October 28, 1925 in Wausau to the late Anton and Stella (Frydoch) Burclaff. After attending elementary school, Esther learned a strong work ethic at an early age. She worked a variety of jobs which included housekeeping, waitressing at The Mint Café and working for Marathon Rubber Co. On August 8, 1942, Esther married Mathew Loos in Wausau. They raised three children with Mathew working at Curtis Company and Esther at Roe's Pet and Seed. One of Esther's benefits at Roe's was to start her own home aquarium and taking care of the wide variety of fish she brought home. It was a labor of love to watch, feed and care for them. Esther enjoyed going polka dancing with Mathew and to take in a show or Barbershop music at the Grand. In her later years, Esther made many friends while working as a parking ramp attendant for the city of Wausau.
Survivors include a daughter, Peggy (Roland) Zerneke of Wausau, son, James (Candy) Loos of Wausau, daughter-in-law, Shirley Loos of Wausau, eight grandchildren, Scott and Mark Loos, Roland (Gina) Zerneke, Robb and Mark Zerneke, James Loos Jr., Lori (Kevin) Juedes and Jason Loos, eight great grandchildren, Logan, Alice, Megan, Matthew, Travis, Emily, Olivia and Grace. Esther was preceded in death by her husband, Mathew, her son, Mathew Jr., two brothers, Arnold and Clarence Burclaff, sister, Irene Ewert and grand daughter-in-law, Jane Loos.
The Mass of the Resurrection will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, July 5, 2016 at Holy Name of Jesus Catholic Church, 1104 S. 9th Ave., Wausau. Father Robert Thorn will officiate. Entombment will be in the Memorial Chapel Mausoleum at Restlawn Memorial Park. Visitation will be at the church on Tuesday from 9:30 a.m. until the time of services.
