Eunice Goetsch

Eunice Ruth Goetsch, 90, of Wausau, WI, died on May 28, 2008, at Harbor House in Wausau.

She was born Dec. 17, 1917, in Thorp, WI, to the late Jerry and Nettie Asselin.

She graduated from Thorp High School. On July 11, 1940, she married Reno Goetsch of Wausau. She was the mother of five children, and an avid Bridge player and gardener.

Eunice was a life-long member of Trinity Lutheran Church and an honored volunteer for the Wausau Mental Health Center. Over the course of nine years, on a weekly basis, she baked dozens of cookies for Community Corners.

She served as the secretary for the District Office of the Lutheran Church, Missouri Synod for 12 years.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Reno on February 25, 2005.

She is survived by daughters Barbara Stokes of Asheville, NC, Susan Goetsch of Wausau, WI, Cindi McKee of Mesa, CO; sons Jerry Goetsch, of Pine, AZ, Ken Goetsch and his wife, Kristi, of Whitefish, MT; four grandchildren Jeffrey Goetsch, Steven Bates, Laura Barbagallo, and Jennifer Jones; and four great grandchildren Mitchell and Abigail Jones, and Kiley and Kayla Barbagallo.

Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m., Monday, June 2, 2008 at Trinity Lutheran Church, Wausau. Reverend Gary Schultz will officiate. Burial will be in Pine Grove Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m., Sunday at Helke Funeral Home and at the church on Monday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of services.
