Evelyn Imm

Evelyn L. Imm, 91, Merrill, died Monday February 27, 2012, at Mt. View Care Center, Wausau.

She was born in Wausau, to the late Lillie (Berndt) Radtke, on December 22, 1920. Evelyn grew up in the Wausau area with her family. On September 6, 1952 she married Ralph Imm, in Waukegan, IL. They spent 59 years together, traveling, fishing, and as Evelyn would say "just having fun". A real spitfire of a lady, strong-willed, and loving are all ways her family describes her. She loved to have fun, whether it was cooking, camping, or doing 'The Charleston', if it would put a smile on her face, or those around her, that's all that mattered.

She spent many years in the Milwaukee area, working during the winter months and taking the summers off to travel with family and friends. Evelyn and Ralph would go to Texas in the winter and sometimes caravan with other groups; they once caravanned in Mexico for 37 days. She moved back to the Wausau area in 1982, with her husband. They are members of St Paul's United Church of Christ.

Her husband, Ralph; nieces, Cheryl Hackbarth, Laurie Grant, Connie Ruplinger, and Carla Elliott; and nephew, Clark Radtke, will sadly miss her.

She was preceded in death by her mother; stepfather; 2 brothers, Alvin and Arno; and sister, Doris.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, March 2, 2012, at St. Paul's United Church of Christ, Wausau. The family will receive guests from 9:30 a.m. until the time of service at the church. The Reverend Philip Schneider will officiate. Entombment will be in Restlawn Memorial Park, Wausau.
