Florence Elaine Edelburg, 85, of Wausau, passed away on Friday, October 27, 2017, at Colonial Manor under the care of Aspirus Comfort Care and Hospice Services.
She was born on January 9, 1932 in Wausau to the late Rueben and Alvina (Krueger) Schneck. Florence grew up in Wausau and attended local schools. She met and later married Myron Edelburg at St. Paul’s United Church of Christ on November 4, 1950.
When people remember Florence, they think of a person that was very patient, positive, and a good listener. She had a kind word about everyone. She enjoyed knitting and crocheting, reading, baking and bread making, and dancing Polkas. Florence’s home was the center of family events and was a busy home. The coming and going of family and relatives was a regular occurrence. She always looked forward to lunches and card games with her farm friends. Most of all she loved her family and grandchildren.
Survivors include her children, Lynnette (Kevin) Cooning and Todd (Heidi) Edelburg; grandchildren, Michelle Pickard, Shanna (Simon) Wolff, Holly Edelburg, and Austin Edelburg; great-grandchildren, Alexis Pickard, Jayda Wolff, Jaxson Wolff, and Janessa Wolff; and sister, Joan Lewitzke.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Myron; son, Randy; and brothers and sisters, James Schneck, Melvin Schneck, Howard Schneck, Grace Kolbeck, and Nancy Kleinschmidt.
A funeral service will be at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, November 1, 2017, at St. Paul’s United Church of Christ, 426 Washington St., Wausau, with Rev. Philip Schneider officiating. Family and friends may call beginning at 9:00 a.m. until the time of service at the church. Burial will follow in Restlawn Memorial Park, town of Texas.
