Florence E. Marquardt, 93, Wausau, died Thursday, February 10, 2011 at the Rennes Health and Rehab Center, Weston.
Florence was born August 29, 1917 in Marathon County to the late Theodore and Elizabeth (Dezur) Zastrow. She is a graduate of Wausau High School. Florence married Leonard Marquardt on November 12, 1938 at St. Stephen Lutheran Church, Wausau. Over the years, Florence was very active at Saint John Lutheran Church, serving as an organist and volunteering with the Ladies Club. Beginning in the early 1960a�(TM)s until Florence was 90 years old she worked for a variety of businesses in the Wausau area as a secretary, most notably Manpower, the Salvation Army and the Family Resource Center.
Florence is survived by her children, Jean (Bill) Dunne of Charlotte, NC, Wayne (Sue) Marquardt of Rhinelander, Susan (Jim) Magnuson of Powers Lake and David (Michelle) Marquardt of Weston; 9 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; brother, Leon (Ruth) Zastrow of Wausau; sister-in-law, Mae Zastrow of Wausau; and many extended family and friends. She is preceded in death by her beloved husband; parents; brothers, Leroy and Harold and sister, Hazel.
Funeral services will be 11:00 AM Tuesday, February 15 at Saint John Lutheran Church a�" ELCA, Town of Maine. Reverend Dan T. Sire will be officiating. Visitation will begin at 10:00 AM on Tuesday at the church and last until services. Burial will be in Saint John Evangelical Cemetery following the funeral service.
