Frances Wilk

Frances was born April 3rd, 1928, the daughter of the late Henry and Emma (Wolslager) Rieck, in Strongs Prairie, WI. After moving to the Wausau area to live with her sister, she met Frank Wilk. On July 30th 1949, the couple was united in marriage and shared 53 years, raising their family and enjoying life together.

Among Frances hobbies and interests were listening to Merle Haggard, collecting doilies, baseball, and watching QVC. She loved her family and believed in living a quiet, simple life.

On June 24th 2013, Frances Marguerite Wilk died tragically from injuries sustained in a car accident. She was 85 years old.

Frances' memory will live on in the hearts of her daughter, Cindy (Rick) Petzke; son, Donald J. Wilk; six grandchildren, Cailee Hoerter, Rylan Hoerter, Randall Wilk, Cody Wilk, Jalen Wilk, and River Wilk; and great-grandson, Ryder Hoerter.

Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Frank, in 2002; and three sisters, Dolores, Rosemarie, and Josephine.

A memorial service honoring Frances will be held at 11 a.m., Friday, June 28th, at Helke Funeral Home, Wausau. Family will receive guests on Friday, at the funeral home, beginning at 10 a.m. until the time of service.
