At the age of 86, Frank W. Mroczenski passed away on Thursday, May 26, 2011, after struggling several years with Alzheimer's Disease. Frank came into this world on August 22, 1924, to his parents, John and Tillie(Lipinski) Mroczenski, and grew up on their Athens farm. Frank met Adeline Michlig at a local dance and they fell in love and were married on November 18, 1944 at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Marathon. After serving in the U.S. Army, Frank and Adeline raised six children to be honest and hard-working kids.
Frank will be remembered as a hard working man who took great pride in the things he built and the cement he poured. Over the years, Frank learned many different skills from driving gravel truck, working in the sawmill and farming in his younger years, and later working at Wausau Steel. Frank owned Mroczenski Sales and Service, selling and installing Patz barn cleaners and silo unloaders, and was known for his quality work in a lot of local barns.
Frank loved spending time at their cabin, which he built, on Lake Alice, where he enjoyed fishing, pontoon boat rides, and sitting by the campfire with family. Frank and Adeline also enjoyed many years with the polka and square dance clubs as well as traveling throughout the United States.
Survivors include, Adeline of Marathon, three daughters, Diane (Keith)Lemmer of Edgar, Carol(Howard)Dupuie of Lake Charles, LA, Sharon(Curly)Schumacker of Edgar, three sons, Duane "Butch" of Marathon, Dale (Yvonne) of Marathon, Kevin (Gail) of Edgar, fifteen grandchildren, twenty two great grandchildren, three great-great grandchildren, and one sister, Marcella (Allen) Leiterman of Marathon. He was preceded in death by his parents, son-in-law, Stanley Schilling, and five brothers, Joe, Stan, Alex, John, and Leonard.
The funeral Mass will be celebrated at 4:00 p.m., Monday, May 30, 2011, at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Marathon. Rev. Joseph Diermeier will officiate. Interment will be in the church cemetery with full military honors. Visitation will be Monday from 2:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. at the church. You may sign our family guest book at helke.com.
