Frank A.J. Rusch, 77, Wausau, died Wednesday, August 31, 2011 at his home.
Frank was born August 30, 1934 in the Town of Eau Plaine to the late Hilton and Genevieve (Atkins) Rusch. He was a sergeant in US Marine Corps during the Korean War. Frank married Maxine Kahre on June 4, 1955 at Trinity Lutheran Church. They celebrated 15 years together prior to Maxinea�(TM)s death. Frank remarried on April 29, 1972 to Jean Woller and they went on to celebrate 36 years together prior to her death in 2008. He worked for the Neenah Foundry for over 33 years providing for his family.
Frank had a good and caring heart. He loved his family and was delighted when he was able to spend time with his grandchildren. In his free time, Frank enjoyed fishing and camping, especially on the Islands of the Willow Flowage with his grandchildren. Being a good native Wisconsin son, Frank was an avid fan of both the Brewers and the Packers.
Frank is survived by his daughters, Connie (Wallace) Laffin, Cindy (Gerald) Baker and Debra (Ronald) Fencl; step-daughter, Sue (Donald) Baker; 13 Grandchildren, 13 Great-Grandchildren; siblings, Dorothy (Arthur) Tautges, Irma Butzlaff, Florence Pagel, Walter (Ann) Rusch, Joyce Litke, David Rusch, Rosemary Schlief and Maryann (Larry) Buchkowski; and many extended family and friends. He is preceded in death by his great-granddaughter, Byanka; and his brother, Harvey.
Funeral services will be 11:30 AM on Friday, September 2, 2011 at the Helke Funeral Home, Wausau. Reverend Stephen Russell will be officiating. Visitation will begin at 9:30 AM and last until the time of services. Burial will follow funeral at Restlawn Memorial Park with military honors to be conferred by the VFW Schmitt-Maneke-Donner Post #1638.
