Gail Nikolai, Wausau, passed away on Wednesday, January 23, 2008 surrounded by her family at Aspirus Wausau Hospital.
She was born in Wausau to the late David and Irma (Bride) Sillars. Gail met the love of her life, Larry Nikolai, while working at Wilson-Hurd. They were married October 29, 1955 in Minnesota. Gail took wonderful care of her
family and loved spending time with them. She was a member of Pilgrim Lutheran Church where she had previously taught Sunday school. Her hobbies included reading, needle point, flower gardening, and making Christmas tree ornaments. For many years she collected clowns and porcelain dolls.
Survivors include her husband of 52 years, Larry, two sons, Perry (Connie) and Christopher (Linda) all of Wausau; grandchildren, Jennifer (Chad), Sarah (Greg), Stephanie (engaged to Patrick), Christopher, Zachary, Christopher
(Kay), Lance (Jennie), Christi (Marty), Chad (Rebecca), Patricia, and Chelsea (engaged to Shane); great-grandchildren, Emalee, Andrew, Reece,Kaedyn, Kole, Keaton, Jordon, Austin, and Owen; sister-in-laws, Josephine
(Ray) Myszka, Mary Jane, Lorina, Dorothy, and Florence Nikolai, and brother-in-laws, Leroy Carlson and Jerry (Reggie) Nikolai. Gail was preceded in death by a brother, Leroy (Florence) Sillars, a sister, Carolyn (Elmer) Buhse, 3 sister-in-laws, 4 brother-in-laws, and a great-grandchild Hannah.
Funeral services will be at 4:00 p.m. Saturday, January 26, 2008 at Helke Funeral Home, Wausau. Reverend Dennis Creswell will officiate. Entombment will be Monday at 10:30 a.m. at Garden of Eternal Rest Mausoleum at Restlawn Memorial Park. Visitation will be Saturday from 2:00 p.m. until the time of services at the funeral home.
