Gary L. Maas

Gary L. Maas, age 81, of Wausau died on Friday, September 13, 2024 at Copperleaf Assisted Living.

Gary was born on June 21, 1943 in Wausau to the late Arnold and Irene (Borth) Maas. Gary discovered his love for music when he learned how to play the accordion at the young age of 6 years old.  That love of music carried him to UW Madison, where he obtained his bachelor’s and master’s degree in music and then onto UNC Chapel Hill where he obtained his doctorate. He went on to become a professor of music at the University of California Fullerton and was able to touch many lives through the gift of music.
