Gene Allen Schuster, 69, of Sayner, passed away Friday, November 27, 2015, at Mount View Nursing Home in Wausau.
Gene was born February 15, 1946, in Wausau, son of the late Herbert and Stella (Dahlke) Schuster. He graduated from Wausau High School in 1964. After high school, he wed the late Carla (Johnson) Schuster and they spent a happy 35 years together. He is survived by two children, son Todd (Stacey) Schuster of Wausau and daughter Jody (Andre')(Schuster) Galella of Weston, two grandsons, Brandon and Justin Wanta, a brother Ronald Schuster of Wausau and sister Lila (Eugene) Viegut of Wausau.
Gene was preceded in death by his brother Jerry Schuster.
He retired from Brokaw Paper Mill as a machine tender after 35 years of service. After being widowed he met Barb Gajewski with whom he found love again. Together they moved from Kronenwetter to Sayner to enjoy the northwoods and spent a good majority of their time outdoors fishing, hunting, caring for their yard, riding their motorcylces, boating and shooting pool.
He loved his family and enjoyed having cookouts with everyone. His love for family and hard work ethics he passed onto his children to carry on his legacy.
A memorial service will be held at 6:00 p.m. Monday, November 30, 2015 at Mount Olive Lutheran Church, 6205 Alderson Street, Weston, with Rev. Lance Hoelscher officiating. Visitation will start at 4:00 p.m. until the time of services. Burial will be at a later date in Maple Grove Cemetery, Town of Maine.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund will be established to go towards Hospice Care and the Humane Society.
