Genevieve was born February 26th 1922, the daughter of the late John and Alexia (Drake) Spatz, in the town of Kronenwetter. On May 12th 1945, she was united in marriage to Herman Krueger, at St. James Catholic Church, Wausau. Gen enjoyed spending time with her great-granddaughter, Alyssa, and knitting baby afghans.
On Saturday, March 30th 2013, Genevieve Mary Krueger died of kidney failure, peacefully at Aspirus Hospice House, surrounded by her family. She was 91 years old.
Gen will be remembered by her daughter, Barbara Krueger; two grandsons, Jason (Jackie) Karau and Jarrod Karau; special great-granddaughter, Alyssa Karau; special great-grandson, Shayne Fellenz; sister, Delores Seeley; brother, Bernard Spatz; four sisters-in-law, Gertie Spatz, Irene Krueger, Vernice Krueger, and Ester Seis; special friends, Sam and Denise Cariddi, Kansas City, MO; special cousin, Betty Weyneth; special neighbor, Bernice Pagenkoff; and many special nieces and nephews and their spouses.
Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Herman; son, Wayne; three sisters, Evelyn Lawrence, Isabelle Glenetzke, and Mary Nienow; and five brothers, Joe, John, Robert, Sylvester, and Arnold Spatz
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m., Thursday, April 4th 2013, at Holy Name of Jesus Parish, Wausau. Reverend David Rybicki will officiate. Interment will follow in Restlawn Memorial Park. Family will receive guests Thursday, at church, beginning at 9 a.m. until the time of service.
The family would like to thank Dr. Katherine Patterson and her staff at the Marshfield Clinic, Wausau and the Aspirus Hospice House for their kindness and care.
