George Louis Moser, 95, Wausau, passed to his heavenly home June 4th 2013, under palliative care, at Aspirus Wausau Hospital.
George was born March 17th 1918, in Wausau, to the late Louis and Louise (Kulow) Moser. George met Ann Miller in 1945, while on leave during World War II. The couple were wed on June 22nd 1946, at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, in Birnamwood, WI. They were blessed with two children, a daughter, Elsiena, and a son, Robert. They were married for 64 years, when Ann passed on November 6th 2010.
George was a man of many talents and professions. He grew up on a farm in the town of Rib Mountain, where he was the oldest of his brothers and sisters. He then served in the U.S. Army, as T-5, from 1942-1945. George then came home to the farm and also ran a milk route. He went on to work for Harold Bielke Trucking and Excavating. In the 1960s, he went to work for Cloverbelt Coop Services, as the 'farmer's friend,' delivering feed, seed, fertilizer, and lime to their fields at all hours of the day. Later, he also installed bulk milk coolers on farms. In 1970, George's family moved to Dundee, IL, where he took care of Irish Setter dogs and the grounds of the kennel. Later, George and Ann moved to Arizona to retire, but a few years later they moved back to Wausau to be with family. Upon their return, George worked for Wausau Homes and drove bus for Northland Lutheran High School. In 1989, while working at Midway Motor Lodge, in Wausau, he was employee of the year as one of their maintenance men. He enjoyed helping his daughter-in-law, Mary with Meals On Wheels by delivering meals to shut-ins and later serving meals at Kannenberg Plaza.
One of George's happiest days was when he traveled to Washington, D.C. as part of the Honor Flight. He was a proud lifetime member of the Disabled American Veterans and belonged to the V.F.W. Burn's Post #388, Wausau.
George was a man of strong faith, believing in his Lord Jesus Christ as his Savior. He was very active at Trinity Lutheran Church, Wausau, Mt. Olive Church, Weston, and Wisconsin Valley Lutheran High School. George would help anybody if he could, for that is why the Lord put him on this earth.
George is survived by his daughter, Elsiena (Allen) Hornung, of Weston; son, Robert (Mary Jo) Moser, of Wausau; six grandchildren, Christina (Robert) Sayegh, Tammy (Matt) Duwe, Jennifer (Ron) Corazalla, Randall Hornung, Bobbie Jo Moser, and Andrew Moser; four great-grandchildren, Dylan, Tyler, Tanner, and Chloe; two sisters, Lydia DeJong and Marion Kornhorst; brother, Louie Moser; sisters-in-law, Iona (Lloyd) Steckbauer and Florence Miller; and many more extended family members and friends.
George was preceded in death by the love of his life, his wife, Ann; parents, Louie and Louise (Kulow) Moser; two sisters, Marguerite Moser and Louise Graefe; and two brothers, Joe Moser and Ben Moser.
