Gladys was born November 1st 1944, in Wausau, to the late Gilbert and Gertrude (Janssen) Langhoff. On April 21st 1973, she was united in marriage to the love of her life, John Lake.
Her love of knitting and crocheting was a hobby she shared with John. Gladys also enjoyed crafts and traveling throughout the United States with John. The couple attended First Presbyterian Church, in Wausau.
On October 16th 2013, Gladys Linda Lake, 68, died at home, surrounded by her family.
Gladys will be lovingly remembered by her devoted husband, John; two children, Kim (Andrew) Coleman and Kenneth (Christine) Lake; sister, Lucinda (Vernon) Schoessow; and many nieces and nephews.
Along with her parents, Gladys was preceded in death by her siblings, Joyce Lippert and Wilburt Langhoff.
A funeral service celebrating Gladys will be held at Noon, Monday, October 21st, at First Presbyterian Church, Wausau, with Reverend Joyce Nelson-Jeffers officiating. Interment will be in Restlawn Memorial Park. Family will receive guests on Monday from 11:00 a.m. until the service, at church. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to First Presbyterian Church.
