Grace Mittelstaedt

Grace Ann Mittelstaedt, 78, Wausau, passed away Friday, February 19, 2016 at Rennes Health and Rehab Center, Weston, under the care of Aspirus Comfort Care and Hospice Services.
Grace was born January 17, 1938 at Wausau Memorial Hospital to the late Ralph and Anna (Neitzke) Mittelstaedt. She attended grammar school at Trinity Lutheran Church and graduated from Wausau High School in 1956. In 1959, she earned her nursing degree from Evangelical Deaconess Hospital School of Nursing in Milwaukee. Grace practiced in Madison and then San Francisco, CA for many years before returning to Wausau to become a nurse educator with Aspirus. Following her retirement, Grace volunteered at the Leigh Yawkey Woodson Art Museum.
Grace was a kind and generous woman devoted to her faith. She was very social and enjoyed playing bridge and mah jongg with friends, reading and participating in a book club and leading her Bible study group at St. Andrew's. Grace also enjoyed working on various crafts such as needle point and cross stitch, flower arranging, and most recently stamping and card making.
Grace is survived by her loving brother, Don (Claire) Mittelstaedt, niece, Lisa (Mittelstaedt) Seshens, extended family, and many very good, caring friends.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, February 26, 2016 at St. Andrew Lutheran Church, Wausau. Visitation will be from 10:00 AM until the time of service on Friday at the church.
