Grace Polege

Grace Polege, 90, of Rib Mountain, was called to her heavenly home on Monday, December 19, 2016, at Wausau Manor.
Grace was born December 4, 1926, in La Porte, IN, daughter of the late William and Carrie May (Clemmons) Wicke. She received her education in Chicago, IL. On September 29, 1946, she married Luther "Bud" Polege in Tomahawk, WI. Bud and Grace raised four children, Donald, Robert, Mary and Charles. After their marriage they made their home in Tomahawk before permanently moving to Wausau in 1954.
Grace was the manager at the Mountain View Apartments while Bud worked in maintenance, until their retirement. She was member of Trinity Lutheran Church and a member of the bible class since 1954. She enjoyed spending time reading, needle work and visiting with family and friends.
Grace is survived by three children, Donald (Sharolyn) Polege, of Lindstrom, MN, Charles Polege of Wausau, and Mary (Bill) Wilson of Lecanto, FL, grandchildren, Mark Polege, Joshua Polege, Michelle (Roland) Sorensen, David (Crystal) Polege, Jeremy Llewellyn; and great grandchildren, Alyssa, Kayla, Zachary, and Joshua Sorensen, two sisters, Phyllis Wagner of Oswego, IL and Helen (Bill) Roeske of Hinckley IL, and a brother Robert Wicke of Pilot Grove MO.
Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by a son Robert in 2006, husband Bud, sister Marie and brothers, Edward, Jim and Herb.
A celebration of Grace's life will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, December 23, 2016, at Trinity Lutheran Church, Wausau. The Reverend Gary Schultz will officiate. Burial will follow at Greenwood Cemetery, Tomahawk. Family will receive guests from 10:00 a.m. until service time, at the church.
