Harlan Allman

Harlan "Yogi" Allman, 77, of the town of Maine passed away at his home on Thursday, September 13, 2012.
He was born March 24, 1935 in Marshfield to the late Harold and Minnie (Stuhr) Allman. Yogi was a graduate of Wausau Senior High School and had served in the National Guard at Fort Lewis. On September 1, 1954, Yogi married Betty Ann Nein in Pine City, MN. While raising their five children, Yogi worked as a quality control inspector at James River Corp. He retired in 1995 after 40 years of service. Yogi and Betty enjoyed traveling and visiting their sons in Colorado, attending concerts in the park, watching the Packers, and attending as many of their grandchildren's activities as possible. He was an avid golfer and a member of the senior golf league at American Legion. Yogi was gifted at woodworking and built four different homes for his family. Whether it was chopping wood, taking care of the yard, fishing or snowmobiling, Yogi loved being outdoors.
Survivors include his wife, Betty, five children, Laurie (fiancé-Henry Welch) Prochnow of Wausau, Steven Allman of Breckenridge, CO, Linda (Don) Rein of Wausau, Loretta (Jim) Nolan of Wausau, Harlan Allman of Breckenridge, CO, seven grandchildren, David Prochnow, Joseph (Kim) Nolan, Matthew Nolan, Jordan Rein, Kelley (Sage) Hawthorne, Betty Ann Prochnow, Ashley Rein, three sisters, Arlene (Kenneth) Bauman of FL, Shirley (Donald) Kettner of Wausau, Beverly (Lloyd) Swanson of MN and a special nephew, Rodney Swanson of MN. He was preceded in death by a grandson, Jason Prochnow, two brothers, Donald and Harold, and two sisters, Marion and Janalee.
Funeral services will be 6:00 p.m., Monday, September 17, 2012 at St. John's Lutheran Church, 5304 N. 44th Ave, Wausau. Reverend Paulette Creswell will officiate. Burial will be in Restlawn Memorial Park. Visitation will be at the church on Monday from 4:00 p.m. until the time of services. Helke Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
