Harold E. Krenz, 84, of Wausau, passed away on Friday, April 15, 2016, at Tender Reflections Memory Care under the care of Interim Health Care.
He was born on August 8, 1931, in the town of Pine River, Lincoln County, to Elmer and Elsie (Baumann) Krenz. He later married June Marquardt on June 20, 1953 at St. Stephen Lutheran Church in Wausau.
Harold worked in the trucking industry for many years hauling freight for Steffke Freight Company and later for Mobil Oil delivering residential fuel oil. He was a supervisor at Wausau Concrete for 20 years. In his later years, Harold grew Ginseng and raised buffalo. Upon retirement Harold spent his days, tending to his gardens, maintaining his lawn, and making firewood.
Harold had a passion for deer hunting with his son and grandsons. He enjoyed camping in his earlier years and maintained his love of boating, fishing and hunting into his late 70's. He was an active member of, St. Stephen Lutheran Church, and served on church council and ushered in his later years.
Survivors include his wife, June; children, Susan Krenz of Neenah and Ronald (Jodi) Krenz of Wausau; grandchildren, Michael Bartelme of Menasha, Shane Krenz, and Jeremy (Katrina) Krenz, all of Wausau; great-grandchild, Quinn Krenz; brother, Franklin (Lorraine) Krenz of Appleton; sister, Lillian Krueger of Wausau; half-brothers, Carl (Roberta) Vendor and Art (Connie) Vendor, all of Montana; half-sister, Violet Tharp of Montana; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Elmer and Elsie; and brothers, Elvin and Milton.
A funeral service will be at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, April 19, 2016, at St. Stephen Lutheran Church, 512 McClellan St., Wausau, with Rev. Jennifer Dahle officiating. Family and friends may call beginning at 9:00 a.m. until the time of service at the church. Burial will follow in Pine Grove Cemetery, Wausau.
