Harold Telschow

Harold Telschow, 80, of Wausau passed away at his home on Tuesday, February 17, 2009.





He was born June 28, 1928 in Fenwood to the late Herbert and Esther (Treibel) Telschow. On September 16, 1950, Harold married Doris Custer at Zion Lutheran Church, Stratford. Harold was a veteran of the Korean War serving with the 2nd Armored Division in Germany. He was a member of American Legion Montgomery Plant Post #10 and the VFW Burns Post #388. Harold was a banker for the former Citizen’s State Bank and then People’s State Bank retiring as vice president in 1990. He served as past Associate Governor for Concordia University Friend’s Club, past treasurer for North Wisconsin District-LCMS, an active member of the Westside Business Association, Greater Wausau Retail Council, American Cancer Society, and the River Valley Harmonizers. He also volunteered at Aspirus Wausau Hospital. Harold belonged to Trinity Lutheran Church where he was past council President and Treasurer, attended Bible Study and sang in the choir and Male Chorus.





Survivors include his wife, Doris of Wausau, two daughters, Jayne Telschow and Nancy (Jeff) Graveen, all of Wausau, two grandchildren, Nathan and Samuel Graveen and one brother, Delmar (Audrey) Telschow of Edgar. Harold was preceded in death by a son, David and a brother, Donald.





Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m., Saturday, February 21, 2009 at Trinity Lutheran Church, Wausau. Reverend Gary Schultz will officiate. Burial will be in Zion Lutheran Cemetery, Stratford. Friends may call from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m., Friday at Helke Funeral Home, Wausau and at the church on Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of services.
