Helen Haling

Helen May Haling, 82, Wausau (formerly of Kenosha), died Monday, September 23, 2013 at the Aspirus Wausau Hospital, Wausau.

Helen was born February 25, 1931 in Wausau to the late William and Eunice (Millard) Bramm. She married Laurence Haling on June 10, 1950 at Grace Evangelical Reformed Church, Wausau. Helen and Laurence spent a majority of their married lives in Kenosha raising their three children there. Later in life, the couple returned to Wausau where Helen worked as a housekeeper at Wausau Insurance. Helen and Laurence celebrated 60 wonderful years together prior to his death on January 2, 2011.

Helen was a devoted mother, grandmother and great-grandmother who embodied a deep love for all of her family. Throughout her life she enjoyed spending time with her siblings, especially when they went out to eat together and their many camping trips. Helen liked to go bowling and play dartball and was often the score keeper for whichever baseball team Laurence or the kids played on. Her free time often found her sewing, hooking rugs, working on plastic canvas and one of her countless crossword books. Being the good Wisconsin woman that she was, Helen rarely missed the opportunity to cheer on the Milwaukee Brewers and the Green Bay Packers.

Helen is survived by her loving children, Karen Shiffer of Weston, Delmar "Del" Haling of Wausau and Rose (fiancé, Todd Schaiko) Haling of Kenosha; grandchildren, Mike Haling, Pat (fiancé, Sophia Galvan) Mueller, Jason (Amanda) Haling and Joyce Bella; special friend of the family, Danielle Cline; great-grandchildren, Shianne, Melanie, Neena, Victoria, Joshua, Elizabeth, Aryana, Shanea, Alexandria, Anastasia, Paul and Phillip; siblings, Roger (Alvina) Bramm, Alice Huntington, Delmar (Fran) Bramm and Lois Priebe; and extended family and friends. She is preceded in death by her grandson, Joshua Maginn and brother-in-law, Robert Huntington.

Memorial service will be at 3:00 PM, Friday, September 27, 2013 at Helke Funeral Home, Wausau. Visitation will begin at 2:00 PM on Friday at the funeral home and last until the time of the service. You may sign our family guestbook at www.helke.com.
