Helen Malueg

Helen M. Malueg, 89, died peacefully on October 5th 2011, at the Alison House Assisted Living, Schofield, where she resided for the past 5 ½ years. She was surrounded with much love and blessings from her immediate family, who were all present as she ascended to her eternal home in Christ Jesus.

Survivors include her children: Dianne (Bloedel) Yankin, Naples, FL, Jerry (Patti) Bloedel, Mosinee, and Jody (Beth) Bloedel, Parlear, NC; 3 grandchildren, Paul and Joey Bloedel, and Sara (Corey) Koppa; and 2 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by 2 siblings, Shirley Schulrud, Milwaukee, and Ken (Jean) Edwards, Wausau.

Helen was a lifetime resident of Schofield. She was born September 13th 1922 to Minnie and Harry Edwards. Helen was married to Lawrence Bloedel, who preceded her in passing May 19th 2009. Her daughter Julie passed April 11th 1983. Also preceding her in passing was Eugene Malueg, her husband of 13 years; 3 sisters, Eva Revie, Ida Kluender, and Elizabeth Edwards; and a brother Harry Edwards.

Helen was known for her delightful and witty sense of humor. Everyone who knew her will remember her fondly for all the laughter she brought into their lives. What a gift she had and gave! One of her young attendants at Allison House said, "I sure would have loved to know her in her prime!" She was dearly loved there and admired for her spunk. That was Helen, a truly fun lady.

She loved her music and dance and spent 10 wonderful years with Ed Lewandoski, who passed 13 years ago. She loved old hymns from the church, polkas, and Gershwin. She had a beautiful singing voice and read her Bible frequently.

A celebration of Helen's life will be held tomorrow (Thursday), at Peace United Church of Christ, at 6:30 p.m. The Reverend Larry Treece will officiate. Family will receive guests beginning at 5:30 p.m. until the time of service, at the church.
