Helen Talcott

February 12, 1923 — October 3, 2016

Helen Talcott was a woman with a vibrant personality. She had a giving spirit which showed in the way Helen took care of her family and helped her friends.

She was born February 12, 1923 in Greenwood to the late Hugo and Edna (Koepsel) Behringer. Helen attended school in Owen-Withee where she graduated from high school. On July 8, 1943, Helen married Kenneth Talcott in Marshfield. They raised their two daughters, Sharon and Patricia with Ken working for the Marathon County Sheriff's Department and Helen as a sales clerk at the downtown SS Kresge store. They also built several small residential homes in Rib Mountain.

Helen was a member of St. Paul's United Church of Christ. In her younger years, she volunteered on Sundays in the nursery and made beautiful quilts and baked goods for the various church fundraisers. Helen enjoyed raising orchids, traveling and Wednesday Bingo nights at the Eagle's Club.

At the age of 93, Helen passed away on Monday, October 3, 2016 at Aspirus Wausau Hospital.

Survivors include her daughters, Dr. Sharon (Dixon) Gahnz of Wisconsin Rapids, Patricia (Michael) Krohn of Rothschild, two grandchildren, Michelle (Kevin) Neathery of Mosinee, Talin (Amy Meyer) Senner of Wisconsin Rapids and three great grandchildren, Brianna, Kylie and Talia. Helen was preceded in death by her husband, Ken, grandson, Tyler Joe Senner, four brothers and three sisters.

Funeral service will be 11:00 a.m., Monday, October 10, 2016 at Restlawn Memorial Park Chapel, T4710 N. Troy St., Wausau. Reverend Christopher Ewan will officiate. Visitation will begin at 10:00 a.m. Monday at the chapel. You may sign our family guest book at helke.com.
