Henry "Hank" Marvin Frank Jr., 90, Brokaw, died December 16, 2016 at Aspirus Wausau Hospital, Wausau.
Hank was born June 15, 1926 in the Town of Weston to the late Henry Sr. and Hattie (Thirsten) Frank. He honorably served his country during World War II in the Marine Corps, serving in the Pacific Theater and attained the rank of Corporal. Hank married Ruthelle Wedepohl on June 27, 1953 at Salem Lutheran Church. The couple was blessed with three children: Randy, Rochelle and Renae. Many family trips were spent driving across the country to visit family west in Washington and across the United States. He worked hard to provide for his family and was employed by Wausau Paper for 35 and ½ years retiring in 1988 as a Lead Chipperman and continuing to work in his retirement for the Brokaw Credit Union for a number of years.
Hank was a strong willed man who was a good husband and father. He had many loves in his life: his home town, Brokaw, his church, Salem Lutheran Church, and time spent at the family cabin on Lake Buteau. Hank loved living and working in Brokaw, and took an active interest in the town and its people. At Salem Lutheran Church, Hank would spent hours volunteering to cut grass, plant flowers and serve his congregation. Time at the family cabin was often spent fishing year round, hiking, and enjoying the many animals and birds. In his free time, Hank was an avid Chicago Cubs fan and was blessed to be able to see them finally win the World Series this year. He also had a great love for gardening and decorating for holidays, especially Christmas time, for Easter finding a tree to decorate with 35 plus dozen of hand decorated eggs.
Hank is survived by his loving wife of 63 years, Ruthelle; children, Randy and Rochelle Frank and Renae (Mitch) Butler; brother, Lawrence (Lois) Frank; and extended family and friends. He is preceded in death by his siblings, twin brother, Walter, Leonard, Marianne, Frances, Ella, Betty, Edward, Billy and Raymond; and step-sister, Helen.
