Herbert E. Gausewitz, 86, of the town of Rib Mountain passed away on Friday, December 14, 2007 at his home.
He was born June 13, 1921 in Milwaukee to the late Herbert W. and Amanda (Frank) Gausewitz. Herbert was a veteran of WWII serving as a medic in the U.S. Army Infantry. He earned a Bachelor of Science degree from U.W. Madison. Herbert managed U.S. Plywood and International Papers, Grand Rapids, MI before retiring in 1976. In August of 1950, Herbert married Jacqueline Fraser in Milwaukee. They had two children, Peter Gausewitz of Belmont, Mi and Sally Berry of Lansing, Mi. Jacqueline passed away on November 20, 1983. On January 19, 1985, Herbert married Marjorie (Kuethe) Frank in Libertyville, Ill. Herbert and Marjorie enjoyed traveling and spending time in their winter home in Lake Havasu City, AZ. They enjoyed playing golf, Bridge, and solving crossword puzzles. Herbert also was a big fan of Wisconsin Badger and Green Bay Packer football.
Survivors include his wife, Marjorie of Rib Mountain, his son Peter and daughter Sally, three step sons, Carl Frank of Desert Hills, Ca, Glen (Patricia) Frank of Gurnee, Ill, James (Patricia) Frank of Waukegan, Ill, and four step grandchildren, Matthew, Jake, James, and Mac. Herbert was preceded in death by two sisters, Dorothy Fleischhauer and Margaret Gausewitz, and one brother, Carl.
