Hildegard Dehnel

May 16, 1920 — April 19, 2013

Hildegard was born May 16th 1920, the daughter of the late John and Magelena (Koenig) Beilke, in the town of Stettin. She lived on the family dairy farm her entire life and it is still in operation today, five generations later. On April 30th 1938, she was united in marriage to George Otto Dehnel, at Trinity Lutheran Church, town of Stettin.

A lifelong member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Hildegard was an active member of the Ladies' Aid. For 52 years, she participated in the Vilas Homemaker's Club. Hildegard enjoyed spending time with her family, cooking large meals for those she loved, and gardening.

On Friday, April 19th 2013, Hildegard C. Dehnel, died under the care of AseraCare Hospice, at Wausau Manor. She was 92 years old.

Hildegard will be lovingly remembered by her daughter, Donna Behnke, Weston; three sons, LeRoy (Sharon) Dehnel and Edward Dehnel, all of Wausau, and Robert C. Dehnel, Marathon; 15 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; 5 great-great grandchildren; 6 step great-grandchildren; 5 step great-great grandchildren; son-in-law, Bob Rajek, Edgar; and other family members and friends.

Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, George, in 1985; daughter, Ardell Rajek, in 2007; daughter-in-law, Sue Ann Dehnel, in 2002; son-in-law, Eugene Behnke, in 1995; and two infant brothers, Roland and Wilfred.

A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m., Thursday, April 25th, at Trinity Lutheran Church, town of Stettin. Reverend Phil Bogen will officiate. Interment will follow in Stettin Christian Cemetery. Family will receive guests from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m., Wednesday, April 24th at Trinity Lutheran Church, with a closing prayer service at 8 p.m.; and again the day of the service beginning at 1 p.m. until the time of the service, at the church.

Memorial donations may be made to Trinity Lutheran Church, town of Stettin.

The family would like to thank Pastor Phil Bogen and everyone at Applegate Terrace, Wausau Manor, AseraCare Hospice for the dedicated care provided to Hildegard and her family.
