Howard Roger Green, 87, Wausau, died Sunday, November 20, 2016 at Aspirus Wausau Hospital after a brief illness.
Howard was born July 26, 1929 in Mosinee to the late G. Norman and Marie (Tiedemann) Green. He was a very proud graduate of Mosinee High School and continued to cherish his love of Mosinee and its history throughout his life. Howard proudly served his country in the US Army in Korea. Howard married Ruth Tewes on April 26, 1967 at the minister's home in Mosinee. Over the years, Howard worked at Wausau Paper Mills, then Wausau Homes and most recently as the driver for the Marathon County Library Bookmobile.
Howard is survived by his wife of 49 years, Ruth; daughter, Kay E. Green of Ocean Shores, WA; step-daughter, Linda (Mike) Cannon of Wausau; grandchildren, Nathanael Cannon of Monroe; Philip Cannon of Wausau and Jared Cannon of Wausau; and extended family and friends. He is preceded in death by his first wife, Donna; and siblings, Margaret Erickson, Helen Thompson and Donald Green.
A funeral service will be at 11:00 AM on Saturday, November 26, 2016 at First United Methodist Church, Wausau. Pastor Jerry Morris will officiate. Visitation will be from 9:30 AM until the time of service on Saturday at the church. Interment will be at Restlawn Memorial Park at a later time.
