Hugo Beilke

Hugo Dietrich Beilke, 93, Wausau, died Tuesday, June 19th 2012, under the care of Ministry Home Care Hospice, at Mt. View Health Care Center, Wausau.

He was born March 1st 1919, the son of the late Albert and Marie (Tesch) Beilke, in the town of Maine. On September 21st 1940, Hugo was united in marriage to Elvera Nass, at Wesley Methodist Church, Wausau.

In 1949, Hugo began a 19 year career as a union sprinkler fitter. Over the years, he and Elvera travelled across the United States for his job. He maintained his union membership for over 60 years. After settling in Wausau, Hugo worked in maintenance at Mt. View Manor until his retirement.

Hugo enjoyed cooking maple syrup at Radtke's farm and was always ready for a good game of cards, especially his favorite, Zombie. He was one of the first members of the Monarch Lions Club, Wausau, served as a trustee at Wesley United Methodist Church, and was a caretaker and treasurer at Maple Grove Cemetery for several years.

Hugo will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 72 years, Elvera, Wausau; brother, Alfred Beilke, Merrill; four sisters-in-law, Lucille (Edward) Pufhal, Dorothy Jaeger, Bonnie (David) Radtke, and Phyllis (Allan) Buch, all of Merrill; brother-in-law, DuWayne (Carol) Nass, Wausau; many nieces and nephews; and other family and friends.

Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Martha Brandenburg and Linda Buzza; brother, Walter Beilke; five brothers-in-law, Robert, Marvin, and Rueben Nass, Algart Mueller, and Milfred Jaeger; and sister-in-law, LoRayne Nass.

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, June 23rd, at Wesley United Methodist Church, Wausau. The Reverend Tim Vanden Langenberg will officiate. Burial will follow in Maple Grove Cemetery, town of Maine. Family will receive guests on Saturday, beginning at 9 a.m. until the service, at the church.
