Inez Peterson

Inez E. Peterson, age 97, of Wausau, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, April 9, 2025, at Rennes Health & Rehab Center.

Inez was born on December 30, 1927, in Naugart, Wisconsin, to the late Martin and Frances (Fehlhaber) Jehn. A graduate of Wausau High School, she dedicated many years to a career in banking, retiring from M&I Bank in 1992. Inez cherished her time with the "Out to Lunch Bunch," a group of close friends and former colleagues who met monthly to stay connected.

She found joy in shopping, reading, baking, celebrating holidays with family, and "putzing" in her yard. Fridays were a special highlight-her personal "Uber Driver" John would pick her up for a hair appointment followed by lunch, a weekly outing she treasured.

Inez is lovingly survived by her nieces, Lynell (John) Huber and Lori (Matt) Heyne; her cousin, Jayme (Francis) Krautkramer; two great-nieces, one great-nephew; three great-great-nieces, one great-great-nephew; and one great-great-great-niece and great-great-great nephew.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her brother, Laurin (Marion) Jehn; and her nephews, Theron Jehn and Randy Lee.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM on Monday, April 14, 2025, at Helke Funeral Home, 302 Spruce Street, Wausau. Rev. Kevin Schnake will officiate. Visitation will be held at the funeral home from 10:00 AM until the time of service.

Memorials may be directed to St. Peter Lutheran Church or Northland Lutheran High School.
